GOODMAN FIELDER MAKES FOUR TOP GROUP EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS AND INTEGRATES NEW ZEALAND OPERATIONS Goodman Fielder Limited has moved to strengthen the companys top leadership group with the appointments of four key executives. In addition the company has announced the decision to integrate its three retailfocused businesses in New Zealand. Goodman Fielder had previously announced that it was reviewing its Baking, Dairy and Home Ingredients businesses in New Zealand to determine if there was a more efficient and effective model that leveraged the companys size in the market into a scale opportunity. The company has now concluded that the integration of the three businesses would provide significant opportunities to reduce operating costs while at the same time facilitate improved interaction with key customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders in New Zealand. We are one of the biggest suppliers to the retail grocery trade in New Zealand and yet we have been operating as three semiindependent companies, Goodman Fielders CEO Mr Chris Delaney said. This makes it hard for our customers and suppliers to do business with us, and it also means that we have not been able to use our scale to drive efficiencies.
This new integrated structure will allow us to bring the considerable capabilities of Goodman Fielder to the marketplace and to service our consumers and customers more effectively. The senior executive appointments announced are Mr Shane Gannon, Chief Financial Officer Mr Neil Kearney, Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer Mr Peter Reidie, Managing Director Goodman Fielder New Zealand Mr Pankaj Talwar, Category Managing Director Baking ANZ We are very pleased with these new appointments which will significantly strengthen our top leadership team, Mr Delaney said.
