Heritage Clearance at Punt Hill

ASX RELEASE Heritage clearance paves way for drilling of key targets at Monaxs Punt Hill coppergold project in S.A. HIGHLIGHTS Significant Aboriginal heritage clearance undertaken by the Kokatha Uwankara paves the way for exploration to recommence at Monaxs Punt Hill coppergold project in northern South Australia adjacent to OZ Minerals Carrapateena project. Drilling planned to commence in October 2011. Monax Mining Limited (MOX) is pleased to announce it has completed an heritage clearance over six key drill sites at its Punt Hill coppergold project with representatives of the Kokatha Uwankara Native Title Claim. The heritage clearance provides Monax with the necessary approval for drilling as well as providing protection for sites of cultural sensitivity. Successfully obtaining Aboriginal heritage clearance with the Kokatha Uwankara is a significant milestone for the Company as it paves the way for the next stage of development for our Punt Hill project, Monax Managing Director, Mr Gary Ferris, said today. The clearance gave Monax an opportunity to meet with the Native Title claimants at our drill targets to discuss the proposed drilling program, he said. At the same time, we learnt more about the connection the Native Title claimants have to the land and the importance of preserving sites of cultural significance. Monax is planning to commence drilling during October, with up to five holes planned, as part of the farmin agreement with Antofagasta PLC.
