Protesters target Gunns' meeting

On Thursday 25 November 2010, 10:44 EST

Anti-pulp mill protesters have given a hostile reception to the head of Gunns, Greg L' Estrange, outside the company's annual general meeting in Launceston.

Nearly 100 protesters have set up camp outside the entrance to the meeting.

Shareholders and company management have been greeted with chanting, whistle blowing and drums but the biggest welcome was reserved for Greg L'Estrange.

He is fronting shareholders just a day after announcing up to 150 jobs will be lost from Gunns sawmills around the state.

Mr L'Estrange is expected to talk to the media after the meeting.
